One of
potential hazard in the workplace can cause health problems is caused by dust. This is can cause an Acute
respiratory tract infection. One of job that has a risk of getting Acute respiratory tract infection disorders are
furniture workers. This is because around 10 to 13% of the wood sawing and sanding will be in the form of
wood dust. So that the workers are always exposed to wood dust which can interfere with breathing. The purpose
of this study aimed to determine the effect of occupational factors and environmental factor on symptoms of
Acute respiratory infections in furniture workers. This research method uses quantitative methods with
observational and cross-sectional research using logistic regression test analysis. The population in this study
were workers in the industry on Semarang street City of Surabaya with a total of 57 people, with a sample of 37
furniture workers. The results of this study indicate that most workers have symptoms of Acute respiratory tract
infection. This happens because it is influenced by occupational factors such as the length of work every day and
the work period of workers who are mostly more than 5 years. Therefore, many factors influence the occurrence
of Acute respiratory tract infection symptoms in furniture industry workers. The use of natural ingredients such as seaweed Kappahycus alvarezii requires pretreatment before it is applied. Pretreatment of seaweed Kappaphycus alvarezii flour was carried out using hydrolyzing enzyme called cellulase. The cellulase (EC 3.2.1.4) is an enzyme which could hydrolyze cellulose polymers thereby breaking β- 1,4 glycosidic bond into oligosaccharide and simple sugars. Meanwhile the cell wall of seaweed could as well be degraded partially by cellulase followed by releasing hydrocolloid polymers (carrageenan) from the inner layer of seaweed cell wall. The aims of this study is to determine the effect of enzymatic pretreatment on seaweed so that it can be useful for further research as one of the promising component in wound dressing. In Indonesia, prevalence of diarrhea reaches 3,5% while its incidence in South Kalimantan was 3,3%. Purpose of this research was to determine spatially the correlation between causal factors with diarrhea cases in the working area of several public health center in Tanah Bumbu District. Its result should be useful as a tool for evaluation and determination of accurate and efficient planning based on geographical area. Ordinal data of diarrhea determinant factors was analyzed using SaTScanTM v9.4.4 in purely spatial analysis function with ordinal data model. P value was defined from Relative Risk value, and result from SaTScanTM was then visualized on map using QGIS NODEBO 2.16.3 to obtain the distribution pattern of cluster at risk. Data showed specific geographic distribution pattern of risked cluster and have a tendency to correlate cluster pattern with the distribution plot and strong density of diarrhea incidence. Result suggested that clusters with moderate to poor determinant quality have the same tendency with high case density in the area. Local-specific intervention related to improvement of water quality and sanitation along with continual education about clean and healthy living behavior, should be able to decrease the burden of diarrhea in the community.
2020-06-29T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2020 https://conferences.unusa.ac.id/index.php/SIHC19/article/view/513 The Effectiveness of Giving Papaya Fruit (Carica Papaya) Toward Blood Pressure on Elderly Hypertension Patients at the Posyandu Purna Sejahtera Surabaya 2020-06-29T16:14:27+00:00 Achmad Wahdi achmadwahdi94@gmail.com Puji Astuti achmadwahdi94@gmail.com
Hypertension in elderly happened due to the decrease elasticity of arteries at the process of aging.
